Asphalting
We asphalt driveways, yards and smaller paved surfaces. The service is new for us — the experience is not: our team has twelve years of asphalt work behind it.

New service, old hands
Why asphalt, and why now
Clients had been asking us about asphalt for a while — we would finish the yard, and the driveway had to wait for another contractor. That is no longer necessary.
The service is new in our offering, the work is not: our team has twelve years of asphalting experience, gained before joining us. So we are not offering asphalt as an experiment, but as work we know how to do.
Because we do the excavation, the base and the drainage ourselves, the asphalt does not go onto someone else’s preparation — which with asphalt is often the difference between a surface that lasts and one that starts crumbling at the edges.
Our approach
Asphalt is only as good as the base under it
The base is ours
We do the digging, the fill and the compaction ourselves, so we do not asphalt over preparation we are not answerable for.
Falls and edges
Water has to run off the asphalt, and the edge has to be finished — with a kerb or a channel drain, which we install ourselves.
We say what makes sense
Not every surface suits asphalt. Where paving is the better option, we say so — even if it makes the job smaller.
FAQ
Asphalting — questions
Asphalting is new for you — do you have the experience?
The service is new in our offering, the work is not. Our team has twelve years of asphalting experience, gained before joining ROBAUM. It is a fair question and that is the honest answer.
Asphalt or pavers — which is better?
It depends on the surface, the load and the look you want. Asphalt is generally better for longer driveways and larger areas, pavers for yards and wherever appearance matters or where you may need to reach services under the surface. Often a combination of both is best.
Do you prepare the base as well?
Yes, and that is precisely why we offer asphalt at all. Excavation, fill, compaction, kerbs and drainage we do ourselves — asphalt is the last step, not the only one.
How large are the areas you asphalt?
We deal with driveways, yards and smaller paved surfaces. For road-building scale we are not the right address, and we will say so straight away rather than take on something that is not ours.
Need an asphalted driveway?
Describe the surface and the access — we will look at the site and prepare a quote.
